The Industrial engineer will provide support to the Engineering department at I-PEX USA Manufacturing, Inc. through leadership on various data collection, continuous improvement, cost saving, waste reduction and troubleshooting activities. The Industrial engineer is expected to allocate more than 50% of the work timings to be on the floor (Gemba) while also being responsible for some paperwork. On the job training will be offered to help mold different advanced engineering skills into the Engineer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Must understand and follow ISO9001 system and IATF16949 requirements; Sustain continuous improvement by implementing the PDCA cycle. Value the Three Reals Philosophy: Actual place, Actual part and Actual situation. It means going to the site, make a direct observation and determine the facts to solve a problem; Designs methods for maintaining or increasing production levels while improving production costs, yields, quality, and safety; Troubleshoots process problems and identifies solutions which reduce downtime and conserve maintenance costs; Monitors process equipment to identify potential errors and develops solutions to eliminate the reoccurrence of those problems; Designs and conducts plant trials to determine performance capabilities; Develops and updates process procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable; Determines the test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement engineering changes; Determines the layout of piping, equipment, and utilities for engineering changes; Interfaces with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation of improvements; Design – Generates creative solutions; Translates concepts and information into images; Uses feedback to modify designs; Applies design principles; Demonstrates attention to detail; Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information and developing solutions; Project Management – Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Follows policies and procedures; Observes safety and security procedures.
