Job Title:  Safety Specialist

Department:  Finance & Administration

Reports To:  Senior Administration Manager

Plans, directs, and implements organization safety program to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through department supervisors & managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  (Other duties and orders may be assigned by Administration Senior Manager.)

  1. Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the company.
  2. Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee/ supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach.
  3. Responsible for assisting in the identification of possible losses, evaluating the risk in such loss exposure, developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss, and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness.
  4. Ensure that contractor personnel working on the property are in compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
  5. Maintain and update as needed SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment, and utilize them in the day to day training.
  6. Provide advice, assist, and audit line management to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working.
  7. Perform and contribute to the site training plans by conducting employee orientations, emergency response training, and coordination of modular training programs for the operation.
  8. Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected.
  9. Coordinate with Safety Manager on facility deficiencies and monthly safety inspections.
  10. Help maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements.
  11. Assists with maintaining the site preparedness and emergency plans & procedures.
  12. Assists in coordinating regulatory programs and its applications, and helping support the compliance process.
  13. Help review accidents and incidents which occur in the area of responsibility, conducting field audits, and reporting and managing the corrective actions.
  14. Help maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety.
  15. Help maintain working relationships with regulatory agencies, and assist in leading the safety committee for the operation.
  16. Help manage risk assessments and the process, and regularly conduct training needs analysis.
  17. Helps coordinate the emergency response team, and comply with all company policies and procedures.
