Job description:
Seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead and manage the site’s quality system, drive continuous improvement initiatives, reduce quality-related losses, and ensure compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements. This position plays a key leadership role in maintaining product quality, supporting manufacturing operations, and overseeing quality-related systems, audits, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
Quality Management System
· Maintain and continuously improve the site Quality Management System (QMS)
· Define and monitor quality objectives
· Regularly report quality status and performance updates to production and executive management
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to quality performance
· Organize quality-related training for employees
· Ensure compliance with applicable customer, industry, and regulatory standards
· Support legal, environmental, and safety compliance efforts
· Manage audits and update control plans and FMEAs as needed
Quality Control / Assurance
· Oversee all quality control processes and laboratory operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
· Develop product specifications and define special characteristics
· Lead the quality control program across the facility
· Analyze quality data and prepare PPAPs and requalification documentation
· Conduct root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities
· Ensure inspection and testing readiness
· Ensure compliance with product safety requirements
· Review and implement customer-specific quality requirements
Customer / Supplier / Complaint Management
· Serve as a liaison for customers and suppliers on quality matters
· Investigate customer complaints in accordance with company and HQ processes
· Examine supplier quality deviations and support resolution activities
· Resolve customer and supplier claims within assigned authority
Environmental Management / Operational Support
· Administer the Environmental Management System (EMS) structure
· Conduct EMS audits and implement required changes
· Manage ISO 14001 recertification activities
· Ensure job safety and adherence to environmental regulations within laboratory and production environments
· Support production quality readiness by ensuring testing equipment and quality systems are available and effective
Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Textiles Manufacturing, Industrial Maintenance/Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field required
· Master’s degree preferred
· Minimum of 5+ years of experience in manufacturing management; textiles or automotive experience preferred
· Experience launching new products or maintaining product lines with customers is highly desirable
· Strong communication and leadership skills
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and SPC skills
· Working knowledge of 8D, PPF, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, VDA 6.3, Lean, and Six Sigma
· Proficiency in MS Office and SAP
· Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001
· English proficiency required; some German knowledge is desirable
Physical / Work Environment
· Ability to alternate between office work and production floor activities throughout the day
· Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching during inspections, audits, and investigations
· Occasional lifting of samples, documents, or light equipment up to 40 lbs.
· Work performed in both office and manufacturing environments, with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures as applicable
· Required use of PPE in designated areas
