Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Become a damper valve expert and support RAPA’s localization effort of automotive damper valves in Auburn/AL/USA.
  • Work initially in Selb/Germany (R&D) for up to 6 months in 2025 on localization and design improvement topics and relocate at the end of 2025 to Auburn/AL to support the launch of production.
  • Work with North American suppliers to source components locally.
  • Coordinate sample builds and validation tests between stakeholders.
  • Align specification, validation requirements and timing with customers.
  • Provide technical expertise in root-cause analysis of potential issues during start of production and ramp-up phase.
  • Design, model and test prototypes for new damper valve developments.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and recommend actions.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education and Experience 
  • Bachelors in relevant engineering field. Masters preferred.
  • Product engineering/design experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Growth mindset; Self-starter; Eager to learn new things
  • Ability to travel between US and Germany
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and handle multiple projects and assignments with               proficiency.
  • Technical/mechanical aptitude with mechatronics experience and basic knowledge of technical drawings is preferred.
  • Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) to design concepts and simulation software for structure, system, magnetic    circuit or flow simulation is preferred.
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Management experience is not required.
