Job Title: Injection Molding Production Technician I

Time: Hourly

Objective:

The Production Technician is responsible for ensuring that molding and automation process conditions are optimized to yield good quality product at the standard cycle.

Qualifications:

  1. 3-5 years background in injection molding, robotics operation and troubleshooting, and mold temperature controller operations in automotive manufacturing.
  2. Processing and understand injection molding terminology.
  3. Understanding the common components of molding machine.
  4. Common knowledge of molding defects.
  5. Understanding the hot runner systems.
  6. Responsible for analyzing if mold, machine, auxiliary equipment (mold controller, material dryer) and process condition is causing non-conforming material.
  7. Ability to assist with mold changeover.
  8. Able to fill out paperwork correctly.
  9. Great communication skills.
  10. Professional degree in Injection Molding (preferred).

Quality Qualifications:

  1. Must understand and follow the Quality Management System, including but not limited to IATF16949 certification.
  2. Ability to strategies resolving molding defects.
  3. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
  4. Notify QC of any defects in a timely manner.
  5. Red ticket must be corrected before restarting the machine.

Scheduling:

Must be able to read, understand, and follow the Production Schedule.

Production:

  1. Able to troubleshoot maintenance issues, machinery problems find the root cause.
  2. Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  3. Load material in the proper hopper and fill out correct work correctly.
  4. Record and dispose terminal scrap in correct location.
  5. Follow work instructions for each machine.
  6. The ability to complete an assigned task in a timely manner.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.
  8. Be able to teach robot on the machine.
  9. Perform Red Rabbit dependently.
  10. Able to start up at least 2-3 machines independently.

Physical Demands:

  1. Required to walk, stand for long period of time, talk, and hear.
  2. Ability to use hands to pick up small parts, grip and feel product.
  3. Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  4. Frequently sit, climb and balance.

Work Environment

  1. Have a good working relationship with co-workers.
  2. Wear complete PPE every shift while on working areas.
  3. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  4. Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
  5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  6. Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with other co-workers, supervisors, and others on company premises.
