Responsibilities:
 

  • Duties include the application of one or more craft skills, (i.e. mechanical, electrical, welding, pipe fitting & machining) to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move & maintain a wide variety of production & related equipment, facilities equipment, buildings and systems in the CNC and Die-Cast departments.  
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment and systems such as motors, pumps, piping systems, conveyor systems, AGVs, PLCs, production machinery and instrumentation equipment.  
  • Installs new machinery and equipment and moves machinery and equipment to affect layout changes as required; work may include operations, such as rigging, moving, erecting, aligning, and making necessary hook-ups, placing equipment in proper operating condition. 
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities of all types, including the most critical types requiring extensive dismantling, re-assemble, and critical adjustment, lubrication, and/or calibration.
  • Works closely with engineers and outside vendors to resolve complex process or equipment issues in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Ability to troubleshoot maintenance problems and alarms on CNC and Die-Cast machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T. 
  • Working experience with ABB and/or Fanuc robots is a plus.
  • Assure that machines and equipment are kept in a safe operating condition.
  • Provide technical expertise and training in the CNC and Die Casting department to ensure company and departmental goals are continually achieved.
  • Assist operators and other key personnel (as specified) with training to better operate and soft maintain and clean the equipment, within the scope of their responsibility.
  • Monitor instruments and gauges to verify proper machines operating conditions.
  • Efficiently install accessory devices to equipment such as ladles or crucibles, holding furnaces, hot oil units, thermal cameras, etc.
  • Repair and maintain metal processing equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Knowledge, Experience, and Requirements: 

3-5 years of experience in general production maintenance including craft skills (i.e., mechanical, electrical, welding, fabrication, and machining) to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move, and maintain a wide variety of production and related equipment, facilities equipment, buildings, and systems 

Journey Card and/or Mechatronics Apprentice Certification or college degree in mechanical or industrial engineering. 

2-4 years degree from a trade school, community college or university 

3-5 years of Maintenance engineering experience in manufacturing and/or automotive industry; strong industrial maintenance background is a plus 

Strong oral and written communication, excellent computer skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work requirements, and attention to detail are essential. Good teamwork and interpersonal skills

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • May be required to lift or carry parts, and/or other materials of various sizes and weights. The supervisor will provide the essential physical requirements of each individual job.
  • Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
  • Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
  • Ability to use power/vibrating tools over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
  • Exposure to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
  • Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
