Position Overview | Technical Service: Electronics Technician (Level I / Entry Level)
The Electronics Technician I is responsible for board-level diagnostics and repair of Surface Mount Technology
(SMT) components related to audio, signal processing, and control systems used across the company's product
lines. This role requires a practical understanding of electronic systems and protocols, along with the ability to
efficiently carry out assigned technical tasks.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform component-level troubleshooting and repair of analog and digital SMT circuit boards.
Inspect, test, and maintain electronic systems used in audio, control, and processing platforms.
Interpret and follow wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and layout diagnostics and repair drawings.
Utilize electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and power
supplies.
Solder and desolder electronic components using both through-hole and surface-mount techniques.
Document repair activities and test results using spreadsheets and designated software tools.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and ESD-safe handling procedures during all repair tasks.
Support team operations by organizing tools, maintaining equipment, and tracking repair inventory.
Collaborate with engineering or senior technical staff for complex repairs and failure analysis.
Core Competencies & Technical Skills:
Strong working knowledge of analog/digital electronics theory and troubleshooting practices.
Ability to identify and replace faulty SMT and through-hole components with precision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar software for repair documentation and data entry.
Familiarity with audio signal flow and control systems is a plus.
Understanding of RF (Radio Frequency) concepts is beneficial but not required.
Strong attention to detail and methodical problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Technical certificate or coursework in electronics from a trade school or community college (preferred)
Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in electronic repair or troubleshooting
Basic knowledge and practical application of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling procedures
