Summary: Position works among many departments engaging in design, planning, execution, control, and supervision of all supply chain activities with the objective of creating value. This is accomplished by building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand, and measuring performance globally. It is the task of Manager is to understand how each step in the production, manufacturing and distribution process works together, optimizing efficiency and reducing waste. Supply Chain Managers coordinate the activities of different teams to get products to customers on time, considering factors like transportation time, product returns and other delays. They prepare long-term schedules for the company to ensure they have enough stock at any given time to meet demand. Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, finance, accounting, logistics, or related field. Master’s degree in supply chain management, or a related field is a bonus. Special Knowledge & Skills: Certification by the Association for Supply Chain Management, or similar certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), or Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program is highly desirable, but not required. Responsibility: Strong collaboration and negotiation skills; Familiarity with safety regulations, including those outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and/or Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Tasks & Activities: Establish goals and action plans for continued reduction in the cost of transportation, package handling, piece price and inventory levels; Monitor and measure supplier performance to ensure compliance with established quality and delivery standards; Manage the data and maintenance of the Bill of Material Database. This includes monitoring the performance of effectively date implementation, changes to Billing of material and loading of new end items; Minimize inventory levels on balance out parts and when appropriate, submit an obsolescence claim; Maintain excellent customer relations including supplier delivery performance; Willingness to travel to develop, promote, and maintain strategic sourcing relationships.
