Maintains production incoming and outgoing packaging and shipping supplies. Prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties; Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned; Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records; Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons; Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers; Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with production supervision of any problems noted; Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications; Sets up labels, bags, boxes and other shipping containers for production personnel and ensures supply materials are maintained; Operates forklift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from production area to shipping and receiving platform; Responsible for keeping production packaging areas, warehouse, and outside dock clean and organized; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Follows policies and procedures; Responsible for keeping work area clean and organized.
