The Auburn Turbine Airfoils facility has been on an exciting lean transformation journey over the last 4 years! The Lean Coach will play an integral role in executing the site’s lean transformation strategy to achieving a 10-day blade, 0 defects, 100% on time. This role will partner with the organization leadership team at all levels of the facility to drive product flow and process improvements that deliver lead time reductions and maximize cash flow, and act as a coach for the site to continue to improve our lean culture. Essential Responsibilities: The Lean Coach guides the facility through the Lean journey, providing ongoing teaching and coaching of lean principles, theories, practices and drives ownership and adoption; Coach and transfer knowledge by working side-by-side with all levels of the organization to develop behaviors that build a culture of engagement, daily problem-solving, and respect for people; Lead a Value Stream using lean tools and process such as: Process mapping and Kaizen Events to identify waste, understand gaps, and coach participants to experiment and implement improvements that deliver breakthrough results; Facilitate creation and sustainment of daily management system activities; Facilitate all aspects of Kaizen Events including leading prep and post event activities, genba walks, to ensure readiness and sustainment; Use a hands-on approach to provide leadership and guidance to all Asheville employees on Business Transformation and its application; Lead projects and provide value as an individual contributor; Have a basic understanding of key business drivers; use this understanding to accomplish own work. Have a good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area; Have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolve issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consult more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters; A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team.
