Job Title: Machine Technician

Location: INICS Battery Solutions

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Position Summary

The Machine Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting machinery used in the production of thermal interface pads for EV battery systems. This role ensures consistent product quality, machine efficiency, and adherence to safety and cleanliness standards in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production equipment (e.g., laminators, die cutters, thermal press machines)
  • Perform daily startup, calibration, and shutdown procedures
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues to minimize downtime
  • Conduct in-process quality checks using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Read and follow detailed work instructions, technical drawings, and SOPs
  • Complete production reports and log machine metrics
  • Perform basic maintenance and support preventative maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to implement process improvements
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the machine area
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and cleanroom guidelines

Qualifications

Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or machine operator role
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality checks
  • Ability to read technical documents and production drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
  • Experience with thermal or adhesive-based materials
  • Background in EV, electronics, or battery component manufacturing
  • Forklift certification or willingness to train

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods
  • Work in a temperature-controlled cleanroom environment
  • Occasional use of ladders and hand tools

Working conditions

  • Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing plant or warehouse setting
  • The environment can be noisy, and safety equipment such as hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe boots may be required.
  • Regular standing, walking, and lifting are required, along with occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • The job may require working in varying temperatures depending on the plant conditions.
